About Our Program
Generally, we find that students who take IBIT are generally more successful in BIT then students who enter the program through the usual entrance requirements. The IBIT program was created to help students: who did not meet the entrance requirement to get into BIT; those who are unsure if IT was right for them; and for students who have been out of school for a period of time and want a refresher before entering into a 2 year program.
With direction from our advisory committee, the IBIT program has been designed for students to acquire additional skills not covered in BIT and help students get a head start on their first term of study in BIT. Our goal is for IBIT students to be successful in the BIT program.
What is in it for you? Students learn the elements that will make them successful in BIT. Students learn Math, study skills and time management skills, logic and programming, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). With these skills in hand, IBIT students tend to be more successful when they enter BIT.
Students who successfully pass all courses with with an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater are eligible to enter into BIT in the next term Students receive a 4 month certificate.
